| Luisa Cisterna - SCLS Director (B.A./Linguistics; Graduate Diploma / Applied Linguistics and Linguistics; Cert. TESOL; Cert. Adult Learning). Luisa started teaching EFL in Brazil in 1985 and has been working in this area since then. Luisa is the co-author of several EFL course books for grades 5 to 8. She also works as a free lance translator and has translated more than 10 books from English into Portuguese. She has taught Portuguese and ESL in major colleges in Calgary and she also has experience in the LINC program. She has a passion for languages and is now learning Italian. |
| Kathie Bowler - SCLS instructor (B.Ed.; CERTESL, Family Life Facilitator) - Kathie brings twenty five years of teaching experience to the SCLS team, with the last sixteen years spent in teaching adult education. Kathie refocused her career six years ago as a passion developed for the struggles of her immigrant students. This passion was the catalyst for her pursuit of further training in ESL teaching. Since becoming a certified ESL instructor she has had the joy of teaching and encouraging many students from all over the world. |
